Polyester is an important variety of synthetic fiber, is the trade name of polyester fiber. It is a fiber made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is a fiber formed by spinning and post-processing and is prepared by esterification or transesterification and polycondensation reaction of refined terephthalate (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (MEG) as raw materials.
From the perspective of the molecular composition of polyester, it is composed of short aliphatic hydrocarbon chain, ester group, benzene ring, alcohol hydroxyl group. There are no other polar groups except two alcohol hydroxyl groups in the dacron, so the hydrophilicity of dacron fiber is very poor. About 46% of polyester molecules contain ester groups, which can be hydrolyzed and pyrolyzed at 200℃ and soaplyzed at strong alkali, reducing the degree of polymerization. Under 100℃, ordinary detergent detergent has no effect on polyester.
The characteristics of polyester are: high strength, good elasticity, good heat resistance, heat insulation, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. However, the dyeing and moisture absorption are relatively poor, but the color fastness is good, and it is not easy to fade. Because there is no specific dyeing group on the polyester molecular chain and the polarity is small, it is difficult to dye, and the dye molecules are not easy to enter the fiber. Wearing a stuffy feeling, at the same time easy to take static electricity, dirty dust, affecting the appearance and comfort. However, after washing, it is easy to dry, and the wet strength almost does not decrease, no deformation, and has good washable performance.
There are many kinds of polyester fiber fabrics, in addition to weaving pure polyester fabrics, there are many products mixed or interwoven with various textile fibers, to make up for the deficiencies of pure polyester fabric, play a better performance. Polyester fabric is developing towards natural synthetic fibers like wool, silk, hemp and deer skin.
Advantages of poly-cotton blend
The contrast effect between polyester-cotton blended fabric and pure cotton fabric: strength elongation (polyester-cotton blended > pure cotton); Wear resistance (poly-cotton blend > pure cotton); Pilling (poly-cotton blend < pure cotton), poly-cotton blend fabric is easy to pilling, mainly because cotton fabric fiber strength is low, poor wear resistance, the ball or ball formed on the surface of the fabric is quickly ground off; The chemical fiber and its blended fabric are easy to slip off the surface of the fabric because of the small adhesion force between the fibers, high fiber strength, good elongation, especially good resistance to bending fatigue, torsion fatigue and wear resistance. Once the ball is formed on the surface, it is not easy to fall off quickly. Crease resistance (poly-cotton blend > pure cotton); Moisture permeability (poly-cotton blend < pure cotton); Air permeability (poly-cotton blend > pure cotton).
